Pop up monument, 2016, object, pcv, air, 0,7 x 0,7 x 4,5 m.
The monumental object, despite its heavy symbolism, becomes somewhat invisible when encountered on a daily basis. This figure brings up themes about the presence of power and authority in our life and the desire to attain power for ourselves. In the case of ‘Pop Up Monument’, these issues are presented in an indirect and somewhat witty manner due to its similarities with children’s blow up toys. The lightweight appearance of the inflated object may arouse positive associations, as it is light and flexible, though in deeper analysis it exists also as an object of vanity
